حَدَّثَنَا وَهْبُ بْنُ بَقِيَّةَ الْوَاسِطِيُّ، وَإِسْحَاقُ، قَالَا: حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ، عَنْ بَيَانٍ، عَنْ وَبَرَةَ، عَنْ عَامِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ:
قُلْتُ لِأَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ: مَا يَمْنَعُكَ أَنْ تُحَدِّثَ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ كَمَا يُحَدِّثُ عَنْهُ أَصْحَابُهُ ؟ قَالَ: لَقَدْ كَانَ لِي مِنْهُ وَجْهٌ وَمَنْزِلَةٌ، وَلَكِنْ سَمِعْتُهُ يَقُولُ: مَنْ كَذَبَ عَلَيَّ مُتَعَمِّدًا فَلْيَتَبَوَّأْ مَقْعَدَهُ مِنَ النَّارِ

✧ I said to Abu al-Zubayr: What prevents you from narrating from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ as his companions narrate from him? He said: I had a status and position with him, but I heard him say: Whoever deliberately lies about me, let him take his seat in the Fire.
