✧ Shahr b. Hawshab from Abu Hurayrah

حَدَّثَنَا سَهْلُ بْنُ زَنْجَلَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا الْوَلِيدُ، سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ عَجْلَانَ يَذْكُرُ عَنْ سَعِيدٍ الْمَقْبُرِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ:

إِذَا جَاءَ أَحَدُكُمْ إِلَى الْمَجْلِسِ فَلْيُسَلِّمْ، فَإِنْ قَامَ فَلْيُسَلِّمْ، فَإِنَّ الْأُولَى لَيْسَتْ أَحَقَّ مِنَ الْآخِرَةِ

Translation

✧ When one of you comes to a gathering, let him greet with salam; and if he rises, let him greet with salam. The first is not more deserving than the last.
