حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ أَيُّوبَ، حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنِي عَمْرٌو، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْأَعْرَجِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ أَدْرَكَ شَيْخًا يَمْشِي بَيْنَ ابْنَيْهِ يَتَوَكَّأُ عَلَيْهِمَا، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ: مَا شَأْنُ هَذَا الشَّيْخِ ؟ فَقَالَ ابْنَاهُ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ كَانَ عَلَيْهِ نَذْرٌ، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ: ارْكَبْ أَيُّهَا الشَّيْخُ، فَإِنَّ اللهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ غَنِيٌّ عَنْكَ وَعَنْ نَذْرِكَ

✧ The Prophet ﷺ came upon an old man walking between his two sons, leaning on them. The Prophet ﷺ said: “What is the matter with this old man?” His two sons said: “O Messenger of Allah, he had made a vow.” The Prophet ﷺ said: “Ride, O old man, for Allah, Mighty and Majestic, is in no need of you or your vow.”
