حَدَّثَنَا الْحَارِثُ، حَدَّثَنَا مَرْوَانُ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ كَيْسَانَ، عَنْ أَبِي حَازِمٍ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ:
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ لِأَبِي طَالِبٍ حِينَ حَضَرَهُ الْمَوْتُ: قُلْ: لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ، أَشْفَعُ لَكَ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ، قَالَ: يَا ابْنَ أَخِي، لَوْلَا أَنْ تُعَيِّرَنِي قُرَيْشٌ لَأَقْرَرْتُ عَيْنَكَ بِهَا، فَنَزَلَتْ: إِنَّكَ لا تَهْدِي مَنْ أَحْبَبْتَ

✧ The Messenger of God ﷺ said to Abu Talib when death came to him: "Say: There is no god but God; I will intercede for you on the Day of Resurrection." He said: "O son of my brother, were it not that Quraysh would taunt me, I would have brought joy to your eye with it." Then it was revealed: You do not guide whom you love.
