حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُوسَى، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْأَنْصَارِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ:

عُرِضَتْ عَلَيَّ النَّارُ، فَرَأَيْتُ فِيهَا ابْنَ قَمَعَةَ بْنِ خِنْدِفَ وَهُوَ يَجُرُّ قُصْبَهُ فِي النَّارِ، وَهُوَ أَوَّلُ مَنْ سَيَّبَ السَّائِبَةَ، وَغَيَّرَ عَهْدَ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، وَأَشْبَهُ مَنْ رَأَيْتُ بِهِ أَكْثَمُ بْنُ الْجَوْنِ، قَالَ: فَقَالَ أَكْثَمُ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، أَيَضُرُّنِي شَبَهُهُ ؟ قَالَ: لَا، إِنَّكَ مُسْلِمٌ وَهُوَ كَافِرٌ

Translation

✧ The Fire was shown to me, and I saw in it Ibn Qamaʿa b. Khindif dragging his intestines in the Fire. He was the first to let loose the sāʾiba and alter the covenant of Abraham. The person I have seen who most resembles him is Aktham b. al-Jawn. Aktham said, “O Messenger of God, will his resemblance harm me?” He said, “No, for you are a Muslim and he is an unbeliever.”
