✧ The Prophet ﷺ appointed a man from the Ansar over an expedition he sent, and ordered them to listen to him and obey. They angered him over something, and he said: 'Gather firewood for me.' They gathered it. He said: 'Light a fire.' They lit it. Then he said: 'Did the Messenger of God ﷺ not command you to listen to me and obey?' They said: 'Yes.' He said: 'Then enter it.' They looked at one another and said: 'We fled to the Messenger of God ﷺ from the Fire.' He said: Then his anger subsided, and the fire was extinguished. When they came to the Messenger of God ﷺ and mentioned that to him, he said: 'If they had entered it, they would not have come out of it. Obedience is only in what is right.'
