حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرٌ، حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرٌ، عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ، عَنْ نُعَيْمِ بْنِ دَجَاجَةَ الْأَسَدِيِّ، قَالَ:

كُنْتُ عِنْدَ عَلِيٍّ، فَدَخَلَ عَلَيْهِ أَبُو مَسْعُودٍ، فَقَالَ لَهُ عَلِيٌّ: يَا فَرُّوخُ، أَنْتَ الْقَائِلُ: لَا يَأْتِي عَلَى النَّاسِ مِائَةُ سَنَةٍ وَعَلَى الْأَرْضِ عَيْنٌ تَطْرِفُ ؟ أَخْطَأَتِ اسْتُكَ الْحُفْرَةَ ! إِنَّمَا قَالَ: لَا يَأْتِي عَلَى النَّاسِ مِائَةُ سَنَةٍ وَعَلَى الْأَرْضِ عَيْنٌ تَطْرِفُ مِمَّا هُوَ الْيَوْمَ حَيٌّ، وَإِنَّمَا رَخَاءُ هَذِهِ الْأُمَّةِ وَفَرَحُهَا بَعْدَ الْمِائَةِ

Translation

✧ I was with Ali when Abu Mas'ud entered upon him, and Ali said to him: O Farrukh, are you the one who said: A hundred years will not pass upon the people while there is on the earth an eye that blinks? Your anus missed the hole! He only said: A hundred years will not pass upon the people while there is on the earth an eye that blinks among those who are alive today. And the ease and joy of this ummah is only after the hundred years.
