✧ I was sitting with Ali when Uqbah Abu Mas'ud came to him. Ali said to him: 'O Farrukh, are you the one who says — or is it not that you are the mufti — giving fatwas to the people?' He said: 'Indeed, I inform them of the last, and the last is worse.' He said: 'Then narrate to us what you heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say about the hundred [years].' He said: 'I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: 'A hundred years will not pass while there is on the earth an eye that blinks.'' Then Ali said: 'You have erred, and you erred in your first fatwa. That applies only to those who are alive on that day. Are ease and relief anything but after the hundred?'
