حَدَّثَنَا غَسَّانُ، عَنْ ثَابِتٍ، عَنْ عَاصِمٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ شَقِيقٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ

سَأَلَ رَجُلٌ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ، عَنْ صَلَاةِ اللَّيْلِ - وَأَنَا بَيْنَهُمَا - قَالَ: فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ: مَثْنَى مَثْنَى، فَإِذَا خَشِيتَ الصُّبْحَ، فَصَلِّ رَكْعَةً، وَرَكْعَتَيْنِ قَبْلَ الْغَدَاةِ

Translation

✧ A man asked the Prophet ﷺ about the night prayer – while I was between them – he said: The Prophet ﷺ said: “Two by two; and when you fear the dawn, pray one rakʿah, and two rakʿahs before the morning prayer.”
