حَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الْبَكْرِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَاصِمٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ، أَخْبَرَنِي ابْنُ شِهَابٍ، أَخْبَرَنِي سَالِمُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ

أَنَّهُ كَانَ يَمْشِي بَيْنَ يَدَيِ الْجِنَازَةِ، وَإِنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ، وَأَبَا بَكْرٍ، وَعُمَرَ، وَعُثْمَانَ كَانُوا يَمْشُونَ أَمَامَهَا

Translation

✧ He used to walk in front of the funeral procession, and indeed the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, Abu Bakr, Umar, and Uthman used to walk in front of it.
