✧ Verily, your remaining among the nations that came before you is only like the time between the Asr prayer and the setting of the sun: the people of the Torah were given the Torah and they acted upon it until midday, then they were unable, so they were given a qirat. Then the people of the Gospel were given the Gospel and they acted until the Asr prayer, then they were unable, so they were given a qirat. Then we were given the Quran, and we acted until sunset, so we were given two qirats, two qirats. The people of the two scriptures said: 'O our Lord, why have You given these two qirats, two qirats, and given us a qirat, a qirat, while we did more work than them?' God said: 'Have I wronged you in anything of your reward?' They said: 'No.' He said: 'Then that is My bounty, which I give to whom I will.'
