✧ I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say while standing on the pulpit: «Your remaining among those who came before you is only like the time between the afternoon prayer and sunset. The people of the Torah were given the Torah and acted upon it until midday, then they were unable, so they were given a qirat each. The people of the Gospel were given the Gospel and acted upon it until the afternoon prayer, then they were unable, so they were given a qirat each. You were given the Quran and acted upon it until sunset, so you were given two qirats each. The people of the Torah and the Gospel said: Our Lord, these have done less work but have more reward. Allah, Blessed and Exalted, said: Have I wronged you in any of your reward? They said: No. He said: It is My bounty; I give it to whom I will.»
