machine translationAl-Zuhrī narrated it, and there is disagreement about him. ʿAmr b. Dīnār and Ibn ʿUyaynah narrated it from al-Zuhrī, from Sālim, from Ibn ʿUmar, from the Prophet ﷺ. Yūnus b. Yazīd differed from them: he narrated it from al-Zuhrī, from Sālim, from Ibn ʿUmar, from Ḥafṣah, from the Prophet ﷺ. Zayd b. Jubayr narrated it from Ibn ʿUmar, who said: "One of the wives of the Messenger of God ﷺ narrated to me." In this there is support for what Yūnus narrated. Nāfiʿ and ʿAbdullāh b. Dīnār narrated it from Ibn ʿUmar, from the Prophet ﷺ, and they did not mention Ḥafṣah in it, nor anyone else. Wabarah b. ʿAbd al-Raḥmān narrated it from Ibn ʿUmar as a statement of his own (mawqūf), and its attribution to the Prophet (raf') is sound (ṣaḥīḥ).
