✧ The sun eclipsed during the time of Uthman b. Affan, and Abdullah b. Mas'ud was in Madinah. Uthman went out and led the people in that prayer: two rak'ahs and two prostrations in one rak'ah. Then Uthman left and entered his house. Abdullah b. Mas'ud sat by A'isha's room, and we sat with him. He said, 'The Messenger of God ﷺ used to command us to pray at the eclipse of the sun or the moon. So if you see that it has been eclipsed, hasten to prayer, for if it is what you fear, it will have come while you are not heedless, and you will have attained or acquired good.'
