✧ Beware of these testimonies, that a man says: "So-and-so was killed as a martyr," for a man fights out of zeal, and a man fights while he is brave-hearted, and he does not know for what he is fighting; and a man fights for worldly gain. And I shall tell you about that. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent a group of people as a raiding party. They did not remain except a little while until the Messenger of Allah ﷺ stood, praised Allah, and extolled Him, then said: "Your brothers met the enemy and they cut them off, and not a single man of them escaped. They met their Lord and said: 'Our Lord, convey to our people that we are pleased and He is pleased with us.' And I am their messenger to you: that they are pleased and He is pleased with them." So bear witness to the like of these.
