حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو خَيْثَمَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرٌ، عَنْ لَيْثٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ الْأَسْوَدِ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ، قَالَ:
خَرَجْتُ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ إِلَى الْحَاجَةِ، فَقَضَاهَا، فَقَالَ: ابْغِنِي شَيْئًا أَسْتَنْجِي بِهِ، وَلَا تُقْرِبْنِي حَائِلًا، وَلَا رَجِيعًا، قَالَ: ثُمَّ تَوَضَّأَ، فَقَامَ يُصَلِّي، فَرَأَيْتُهُ كُلَّمَا رَكَعَ حَنَا يَعْنِي طَبَّقَ يَدَيْهِ وَجَعَلَهُمَا بَيْنَ رُكْبَتَيْهِ

✧ I went out with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ to relieve himself, and he did so. He said: 'Find me something to cleanse myself with, but do not bring me anything dry (like dung) or bones.' He said: 'Then he performed wudu and stood to pray. I saw that whenever he bowed, he bent — meaning he clasped his hands together and placed them between his knees.'
