✧ The Messenger of God ﷺ was asked, 'Which people are best?' He said, 'My generation, then those who follow them, then those who follow them. Then will come a people whose testimony hastens ahead of their oath and whose oath hastens ahead of their testimony.' Ibrahim said: They used to forbid us, while we were boys, from making covenants and bearing testimonies.

  • Dāraquṭnī

machine translationHe was asked about the hadith of ʿAlqamah, from ʿAbdullāh, from the Prophet ﷺ, and he said: It was said thus from Muṣʿab b. Māhān, from Sufyān, from Manṣūr, and from Ibn Abī ʿAdī, from Shuʿbah, from Manṣūr, from Ibrāhīm, from ʿAlqamah, from ʿAbdullāh. But it is not sound (ṣaḥīḥ); the correct version is from Ibrāhīm, from ʿUbaydah, from ʿAbdullāh.
