  1. ʿAbdullāh

✧ On the day of Hunayn, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ gave preference in the spoils. He gave al-Aqraʿ b. Ḥābis a hundred camels, gave ʿUyaynah the like of that, and gave people among the nobles of the Arabs, preferring them in the division. A man said: 'By Allah, this is a division in which justice has not been observed, and the face of Allah has not been sought.' I said: 'By Allah, I will certainly inform the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.' I came to him and told him what the man said. His face changed until it was like red ochre. Then he said: 'Who then is just if the Messenger of Allah is not just?' Then he said: 'May Allah have mercy on Musa. He was harmed with more than this, and he was patient.' I said: 'No doubt, after this I will not raise anything to him.'
