machine translationThis is a mistake. It is said that al-Thawrī erred in it. A group narrated this hadith from ʿĀṣim, and all of them said that the Prophet ﷺ began the prayer, raised his hands, then bowed and placed his hands together between his knees (ṭabbaqa), and none of them said what al-Thawrī narrated.
