حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أُسَامَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا مِسْعَرٌ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ مُرَّةَ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ قَالَ: قَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ لِعَبْدِ اللهِ: اقْرَأْ عَلَيَّ قَالَ: أَقْرَأُ عَلَيْكَ، وَعَلَيْكَ أُنْزِلَ ؟ قَالَ: إِنِّي أُحِبُّ أَنْ أَسْمَعَهُ مِنْ غَيْرِي قَالَ: فَقَرَأَ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ أَوَّلِ سُورَةِ النِّسَاءِ إِلَى قَوْلِهِ: فَكَيْفَ إِذَا جِئْنَا مِنْ كُلِّ أُمَّةٍ بِشَهِيدٍ وَجِئْنَا بِكَ عَلَى هَؤُلاءِ شَهِيدًا، فَبَكَى
Translation
✧ Abū Bakr narrated to us, Abū Usāmah narrated to us, Misʿar narrated to us, from ʿAmr b. Murrah, from Ibrāhīm, who said: The Prophet ﷺ said to ʿAbdullāh: “Recite to me.” He said: “Should I recite to you when it was sent down upon you?” He said: “I love to hear it from someone other than myself.” He said: So he recited to him from the beginning of Sūrat al-Nisāʾ up to His saying: “So how will it be when We bring from every nation a witness and We bring you as a witness against these?” And he wept.
