أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْأَعْلَى قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدٌ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ مَيْسَرَةَ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ النَّزَّالَ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ اللهِ قَالَ §سَمِعْتُ رَجُلًا يَقْرَأُ آيَةً كُنْتُ

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقْرَأُ غَيْرَهَا فَأَخَذْتُ بِيَدِهِ فَأَتَيْتُ بِهِ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَرَأَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ تَغَيَّرَ وَجْهُهُ فَقَالَ «كِلَاكُمَا مُحْسِنٌ لَا تَخْتَلِفُوا فِيهِ فَإِنَّ مَنْ كَانَ قَبْلَكُمُ اخْتَلَفُوا فِيهِ»

✧ I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ recite it differently, so I took him by the hand and brought him to the Prophet ﷺ. I saw the Prophet's ﷺ face change. He said: "Both of you are correct. Do not differ about it, for those before you differed and were destroyed."
