machine translationHe was asked about the hadith of Abū ʿUbaydah, from ʿAbdullāh, from the Prophet ﷺ, and he said: Abū Isḥāq narrates it, and there is disagreement about him. Isrāʾīl and ʿAlī b. ʿĀbis raised it (to the Prophet ﷺ) from Abū Isḥāq, while Ḥadīj b. Muʿāwiyah made it a statement of Ibn Masʿūd (mawqūf). Others narrate it from Abū Isḥāq, from Abū ʿUbaydah, as his own statement. Its sound form is from Abū Isḥāq, from Saʿd b. ʿUbaydah, from al-Barāʾ. It seems that the hadith of Abū ʿUbaydah, from ʿAbdullāh, is preserved (maḥfūẓ), and God knows best.
