✧ Abu Bakr al-Siddiq asked permission to enter upon the Messenger of Allah ﷺ while he was lying on his bed, wearing Aisha’s cloak. He gave Abu Bakr permission while he was like that. He said: He settled his need with him, then left. And Uthman said: Then Umar asked permission, and he gave him permission while he was in that state, and he settled his need with him, then left. He said: Then Aisha said: I did not see you startle for Abu Bakr and Umar as you startled for Uthman. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Uthman is a shy man, and I feared that if I gave him permission while I was in that state, he would not fully convey his need.
