✧ When the people of Nahrawan were struck down, Ali said to us: Search among them, for if they are the people the Messenger of God ﷺ mentioned, among them is a man with a deformed hand, or a stunted hand. He said: We searched and found him, and we called him to Ali. He stood over him and said: God is great. Were it not that you would become arrogant, I would tell you what God decreed on the tongue of His Messenger ﷺ for those who killed these people. He said: I said: You heard it from the Messenger of God ﷺ? He said: Yes, by the Lord of the Kaaba, yes, by the Lord of the Kaaba. He said: This reached one of the wives of the Prophet ﷺ, as if she envied him for that.
