حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْأَعْلَى، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ الْقَاسِمِ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ:

دَخَلَ عَلَيَّ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مِنْ سَفَرٍ، وَقَدِ اسْتَتَرْتُ بِقِرَامٍ عَلَى سَهْوَةٍ لِي، فِيهِ تَمَاثِيلُ، فَلَمَّا رَآهُ هَتَكَهُ بِيَدِهِ، وَقَالَ: أَشَدُّ النَّاسِ عَذَابًا عِنْدَ اللهِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ الَّذِينَ يُضَاهُونَ بِخَلْقِ اللهِ، فَقَالَتْ عَائِشَةُ: فَقَطَعْنَاهُ، فَجَعَلْنَا مِنْهُ وِسَادَةً أَوْ وِسَادَتَيْنِ

Translation

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ entered upon me after a journey, and I had hung a curtain over a shelf of mine containing images. When he saw it, he tore it with his hand and said: “The people with the severest punishment on the Day of Resurrection are those who imitate Allah’s creation.” Aisha said: So we cut it up and made from it a cushion or two cushions.
