حَدَّثَنَا بِشْرُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ الْكِنْدِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا شَرِيكٌ، عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ:
دَخَلَ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ رَجُلٌ، فَقَرَّبَهُ وَأَدْنَى مَجْلِسَهُ، فَلَمَّا خَرَجَ مِنْ عِنْدِهِ، قَالَتْ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، أَلَسْتَ كُنْتَ تَشْكُو هَذَا ؟ قَالَ: بَلَى، وَلَكِنْ مِنْ شِرَارِ النَّاسِ الَّذِينَ يُكْرَمُونَ اتِّقَاءَ شَرِّهِمْ

✧ A man entered upon the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and he welcomed him and brought his seat close. When he left his presence, she said: 'O Messenger of Allah, were you not complaining about this man?' He said: 'Yes, but among the worst of people are those who are honored out of fear of their evil.'
