حَدَّثَنَا أَسْوَدُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا شَرِيكٌ عَنْ الْأَعْمَشِ عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ
أَنَّ رَجُلًا دَخَلَ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَأَدْنَاهُ وَقَرَّبَ مَجْلِسَهُ، فَلَمَّا خَرَجَ، قَالَتْ لَهُ عَائِشَةُ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، أَلَمْ تَكُ تَشْكُو هَذَا الرَّجُلَ ؟ قَالَ: بَلَى، وَلَكِنْ إِنَّ مِنْ شِرَارِ النَّاسِ - أَوْ شَرِّ النَّاسِ - الَّذِينَ إِنَّمَا يُكْرَمُونَ اتِّقَاءَ شَرِّهِمْ

✧ A man entered upon the Prophet ﷺ, and he drew him near and brought his seat close. When he left, Aishah said to him: O Messenger of Allah, were you not complaining about this man? He said: Yes, but among the worst of people—or the most evil of people—are those who are honored only to avoid their evil.
