حَدَّثَنَا الْعَبَّاسُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سُلَيْمٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ خُثَيْمٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ أَبِي مُلَيْكَةَ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ عَائِشَةَ، تَقُولُ: سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ وَهُوَ بَيْنَ ظَهْرَانَيْ أَصْحَابِهِ:

أَنَا فَرَطُكُمْ عَلَى الْحَوْضِ، أَنْتَظِرُ مَنْ يَرِدُ عَلَيَّ مِنْكُمْ، فَوَاللهِ لَيُقْتَطَعَنَّ رِجَالٌ دُونِي، فَلَأَقُولَنَّ: رَبِّ، مِنِّي وَمِنْ أُمَّتِي، فَيُقَالُ: إِنَّكَ لَا تَدْرِي مَا أَحْدَثُوا بَعْدَكَ، مَا زَالُوا يَرْجِعُونَ عَلَى أَعْقَابِهِمْ

✧ I am your forerunner at the Pond, waiting for those of you who come to me. By Allah, men will be snatched away from me, and I will say, ‘My Lord, from me and from my Ummah.’ It will be said, ‘You do not know what they innovated after you; they kept turning back on their heels.’
