حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو خَيْثَمَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ زَيْدٍ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ، قَالَ: كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ:

صَوْتُ أَبِي طَلْحَةَ فِي الْجَيْشِ خَيْرٌ مِنْ فِئَةٍ، وَكَانَ إِذَا لَقِيَ مَعَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ جَثَا بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ، وَقَالَ: نَفْسِي لِنَفْسِكَ الْفِدَاءُ، وَوَجْهِي لِوَجْهِكَ الْوِقَاءُ

Translation

✧ The voice of Abu Talhah in the army is better than a troop. When he met with the Prophet ﷺ, he would kneel before him, and say: 'My self be a ransom for your self, and my face be a protection for your face.'
