حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْأَعْلَى، حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ عُمَرَ أَخْبَرَنَا شُعْبَةُ، أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ صُهَيْبٍ قَالَ:

سَمِعْتُ أَنَسَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ ذَكَرَ تَزْوِيجَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ صَفِيَّةَ، فَقَالَ ثَابِتٌ: مَا أَصْدَقَهَا، فَقَالَ أَنَسٌ: أَصْدَقَهَا نَفْسَهَا، أَعْتَقَهَا وَتَزَوَّجَهَا

✧ I heard Anas b. Malik mention the Prophet's ﷺ marriage to Safiyyah. Thabit said: What did he give her as dower? Anas said: He gave her herself as dower—he manumitted her and married her.
