حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي بَكْرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا مُبَارَكٌ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ:

أَلَا أُنَبِّئُكُمْ بِشِرَارِكُمْ ؟ قَالُوا: بَلَى، قَالَ: شِرَارُكُمْ مَنْ يُتَّقَى شَرُّهُ وَلَا يُرْجَى خَيْرُهُ، وَخِيَارُكُمْ مَنْ يُرْجَى خَيْرُهُ وَلَا يُتَّقَى شَرُّهُ

Translation

✧ Shall I not inform you of the worst among you? They said: Yes. He said: The worst among you is the one whose evil is feared and whose good is not hoped for. The best among you is the one whose good is hoped for and whose evil is not feared.
