حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرٌ، حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ، حَدَّثَنَا حُمَيْدٌ، عَنْ ثَابِتٍ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ رَأَى رَجُلًا يُهَادَى بَيْنَ ابْنَيْهِ، فَقَالَ: مَا هَذَا ؟ قَالُوا: نَذَرَ أَنْ يَمْشِيَ إِلَى الْبَيْتِ، فَقَالَ: إِنَّ اللهَ لَغَنِيٌّ عَنْ تَعْذِيبِ هَذَا نَفْسَهُ، ثُمَّ أَمَرَهُ فَرَكِبَ

Translation

✧ The Messenger of God ﷺ saw a man being supported between his two sons, so he said: "What is this?" They said: "He vowed to walk to the House." So he said: "God is indeed free from need for this man to torment himself." Then he ordered him, and he rode.
