حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ، حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ زُرَيْعٍ، حَدَّثَنَا حُمَيْدٌ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ، قَالَ:

إِنْ كَانَ الرَّجُلُ لَيَأْتِي رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يُسْلِمُ لِلشَّيْءِ مِنَ الدُّنْيَا، لَا يُسْلِمُ إِلَّا لَهُ، فَمَا يُمْسِي حَتَّى يَكُونَ الْإِسْلَامُ أَحَبَّ إِلَيْهِ مِنَ الدُّنْيَا وَمَا فِيهَا

Translation

✧ A man would come to the Messenger of God ﷺ and embrace Islam for some worldly thing; he would only embrace Islam for that. By evening, Islam would become dearer to him than the world and all it contains.
