حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرٌ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى، عَنْ حُمَيْدٍ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ آلَى مِنْ نِسَائِهِ شَهْرًا، فَقَعَدَ فِي مَشْرُبَةٍ لَهُ وَقَدِ انْفَكَّتْ قَدَمُهُ، قَالَ: فَدَخَلُوا عَلَيْهِ فَحَضَرَتِ الصَّلَاةُ، فَصَلَّى بِهِمْ قَاعِدًا، فَصَلَّوْا قِيَامًا، ثُمَّ نَزَلَ لِتِسْعٍ وَعِشْرِينَ، فَقَالُوا: إِنَّكَ آلَيْتَ شَهْرًا، قَالَ: الشَّهْرُ تِسْعٌ وَعِشْرُونَ

Translation

✧ The Prophet ﷺ swore an oath to stay away from his wives for a month and sat in an upper room of his, and his foot had become dislocated. He said: They entered upon him, and when the prayer time came, he prayed with them sitting, and they prayed standing. Then he came down after twenty-nine days, and they said, 'You swore a month.' He said, 'The month is twenty-nine.'
