✧ Abu al-Zinad from Anas

حَدَّثَنَا هَارُونُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي فُدَيْكٍ، عَنْ عِيسَى الْحَنَّاطِ، عَنْ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ:

الْحَسَدُ يَأْكُلُ الْحَسَنَاتِ كَمَا تَأْكُلُ النَّارُ الْحَطَبَ، وَالصَّدَقَةُ تُطْفِئُ الْخَطِيئَةَ كَمَا يُطْفِئُ الْمَاءُ النَّارَ، وَالصَّلَاةُ نُورُ الْمُؤْمِنِ، وَالصِّيَامُ جُنَّةٌ مِنَ النَّارِ

Translation

✧ Envy consumes good deeds just as fire consumes firewood, and charity extinguishes sin just as water extinguishes fire, and prayer is the light of the believer, and fasting is a shield from the Fire.

    يرويه عيسى بن أبي عيسى الخياط عن أبي الزناد واختلف عنه فرواه يعقوب بن محمد الزهري عن ابن أبي فديك عن عيسى عن أبي الزناد عن الشعبي عن أنس وخالفه أصحاب ابن أبي فديك فلم يذكروا في الإسناد الشعبي وكذلك رواه أبو خالد الأحمر عن عيسى ورواه أبو معاوية عن عبد الرحمن بن قيس عن أبي الزناد قال سمعت أنسا ووقف الحديث ولم يرفعه وهذا الاضطراب فيه من عيسى لأنه ضعيف وذكر الشعبي في الحديث الأول وهم من يعقوب بن محمد الزهري
