حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرٌ، حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ، أَخْبَرَنَا ثَابِتٌ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ
أَنَّ أُخْتَ الرُّبَيِّعِ بْنِ حَارِثَةَ، جَرَحَتْ إِنْسَانًا، فَاخْتَصَمُوا إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ، فَقَالُوا: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، الْقِصَاصَ الْقِصَاصَ، فَقَالَتْ أُمُّ الرُّبَيِّعِ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ أَتَقْتَصُّ مِنْ فُلَانَةَ ؟ ! لَا وَاللهِ لَا تَقْتَصُّ مِنْهَا، فَمَا زَالَتْ حَتَّى قَبِلُوا الدِّيَةَ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ: إِنَّ مِنْ عِبَادِ اللهِ مَنْ لَوْ أَقْسَمَ عَلَى اللهِ لَأَبَرَّهُ
Translation

✧ The sister of al-Rubayyiʿ b. Haritha injured someone, and they brought the dispute to the Prophet ﷺ. They said: O Messenger of Allah, retaliation, retaliation. The mother of al-Rubayyiʿ said: O Messenger of Allah, will you exact retaliation from so-and-so? No, by Allah, you will not exact retaliation from her. She kept at it until they accepted blood money. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Among Allah's servants are those who, if they swore by Allah, He would honor it.
