Musnad Abi Ya'la 3221

Translation

✧ A man who had drunk wine was brought to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and he ordered that he be struck with two sandals forty times. Then a man who had drunk wine was brought to Abu Bakr, and he did the same to him. Then a man who had drunk wine was brought to Umar, and he consulted the people about it. Abd al-Rahman b. Awf said, "The minimum of the prescribed punishments is eighty," so Umar struck him eighty.
