حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُوسَى، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي عَدِيٍّ، عَنْ سَعِيدٍ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ
أَنَّ نَبِيَّ اللهِ ﷺ، وَزَيْدَ بْنَ ثَابِتٍ تَسَحَّرَا، فَلَمَّا فَرَغَ مِنْ سَحُورِهِ يَعْنِي قُلْتُ لَهُ: كَمْ كَانَ بَيْنَهُ وَبَيْنَ دُخُولِهِ فِي صَلَاتِهِ ؟ قَالَ: قَدْرَ مَا يَقْرَأُ الرَّجُلُ خَمْسِينَ آيَةً

✧ The Prophet of God ﷺ and Zayd b. Thabit had the pre-dawn meal. When he finished his suhur—meaning, I said to him, “How much time was there between that and his entering into his prayer?” He said, “As long as it takes a man to recite fifty verses.”
