حَدَّثَنَا نَافِعُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ الطَّاحِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا نُوحُ بْنُ قَيْسٍ، عَنْ خَالِدِ بْنِ قَيْسٍ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ، قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ:

يُؤْتَى بِالْمَوْتِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ كَأَنَّهُ كَبْشٌ أَمْلَحُ، فَيُوقَفُ بَيْنَ الْجَنَّةِ وَالنَّارِ، ثُمَّ يُنَادِي مُنَادٍ: يَا أَهْلَ الْجَنَّةِ ؟ فَيَقُولُونَ: لَبَّيْكَ رَبَّنَا، قَالَ: فَيُقَالُ: هَلْ تَعْرِفُونَ هَذَا ؟ فَيَقُولُونَ: نَعَمْ رَبَّنَا، هَذَا الْمَوْتُ، فَيُذْبَحُ كَمَا تُذْبَحُ الشَّاةُ، فَيَأْمَنُ هَؤُلَاءِ، وَيَنْقَطِعُ رَجَاءُ هَؤُلَاءِ

Translation

✧ Death will be brought on the Day of Resurrection as if it were a black and white ram, and it will be stood between Paradise and the Fire. Then a caller will call out: O people of Paradise? They will say: At Your service, our Lord. He said: Then it will be said: Do you recognize this? They will say: Yes, our Lord, this is death. Then it will be slaughtered as a sheep is slaughtered, so these will be safe, and the hope of those will be cut off.
