✧ Whoever slaughtered before the prayer should repeat it. A man said: "O Messenger of Allah, this is a day on which meat is desired," and he mentioned some shortcoming among his neighbors, as if the Messenger of Allah ﷺ believed him. He said: "I have a jadha'ah that is dearer to me than two meat sheep." He said: So he granted him a concession. I do not know whether his concession reached others besides him or not. The people turned to some small sheep and divided them among themselves, or he said: "and cut them up."

machine translationIbn ʿAwn narrates it from Ibn Sīrīn, from ʿAbd al-Raḥmān b. Abī Bakrah, from his father, but he erred in it (wahima). Rather, Ibn Sīrīn narrated it from Anas b. Mālik. Likewise Ayyūb and Hishām narrated it from Ibn Sīrīn, and that is the correct version.

  • Dāraquṭnī
