✧ The Messenger of God ﷺ used to deliver the sermon on Friday beside a wooden post, leaning his back against it. When the people became numerous, he said: Build for me a pulpit. They built for him a pulpit with two steps. When he stood on the pulpit to preach, the wooden post yearned for the Messenger of God ﷺ. Anas said: I was in the mosque, and I heard the wooden post when it yearned, yearning like a grieving mother. It kept yearning until the Messenger of God ﷺ came down to it and embraced it, and it became still.
