حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو خَيْثَمَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ، حَدَّثَنَا هَمَّامٌ، أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو جَمْرَةَ
أَنَّهُ كَانَ يَجْلِسُ إِلَى ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، فَكَانَ يَدْفَعُ عَنْهُ النَّاسَ، قَالَ: فَاحْتَبَسْتُ عَنْهُ أَيَّامًا، فَقَالَ لِي: مَا حَبَسَكَ ؟ قَالَ: قُلْتُ: الْحُمَّى، فَقَالَ لِي: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ: إِنَّ الْحُمَّى مِنْ فَيْحِ جَهَنَّمَ، فَأَطْفِئُوهَا عَنْكُمْ بِمَاءِ زَمْزَمَ
Translation

✧ He used to sit with Ibn 'Abbas, and Ibn 'Abbas would keep people away from him. He said: I stayed away from him for some days. He said to me: "What kept you away?" He said: I said: "Fever." He said to me: "The Messenger of God ﷺ said: 'Fever is from the heat of Hell, so cool it with Zamzam water.'"
