✧ One day the Messenger of God ﷺ stood on the pulpit and said, “While some people were traveling in the sea, their food ran out, and an island was raised up for them. They went out seeking bread, and the Jassasah met them.” I said to Abu Salamah, “What is the Jassasah?” He said, “A woman dragging the hair of her head.” She said to them, “In this palace is the news of what you seek.” So they came to it, and there they found a man who was bound. He said, “Tell me, or ask me, and I will inform you.” The people were silent, so he said, “Tell me about the date palms of Baysan and Ariha—or Ariha—has it fruited?” They said, “Yes.” He said, “Then tell me about the marsh of Zughar, is there water in it?” They said, “Yes.” They said, “He is the Dajjal. The earth will be folded up for him, and he will traverse it in forty days, except for what is in Taybah.” The Messenger of God ﷺ said, “Indeed Taybah is Madinah. There is no gate among its gates but an angel has drawn his sword, preventing him from entering it. And in Makkah there is the like of that.” Then he said, “In the sea of Persia it is not, and in the sea of Byzantium it is not.” Abu Salamah said to me, “There is something in this hadith that I did not retain.” He said, “Jabir b. Abd Allah testified that he is Ibn Sayyad.” I said, “But he has died.” He said, “Even if he has died.” I said, “But he has embraced Islam.” He said, “Even if he has embraced Islam.” I said, “But he has entered Madinah.” He said, “Even if he has entered Madinah.”
