Musnad Abi Ya'la 2138

وَعَنْ جَابِرٍ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ:

لَا تَسْأَلُوا أَهْلَ الْكِتَابِ عَنْ شَيْءٍ، فَإِنَّهُمْ لَنْ يَهْدُوكُمْ وَقَدْ ضَلُّوا، وَإِنَّكُمْ إِمَّا أَنْ تُصَدِّقُوا بِبَاطِلٍ، وَإِمَّا أَنْ تُكَذِّبُوا بِحَقٍّ، وَإِنَّهُ وَاللهِ لَوْ كَانَ مُوسَى حَيًّا بَيْنَ أَظْهُرِكُمْ مَا حَلَّ لَهُ إِلَّا أَنْ يَتَّبِعَنِي

Translation

Chain of narrators

✧ Do not ask the People of the Book about anything, for they will never guide you when they themselves have gone astray. Either you will believe in falsehood or you will disbelieve the truth. By Allah, if Musa were alive among you, it would not be lawful for him except to follow me.
