✧ The question of the People of the Book

أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ قَالَ: حُدِّثْتُ عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَسْلَمَ قَالَ: بَلَغَنِي أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ:
لَا تَسْأَلُوا أَهْلَ الْكِتَابِ عَنْ شَيْءٍ، فَإِنَّهُمْ لَنْ يَهْدُوكُمْ، وَقَدْ أَضَلُّوا أَنْفُسَهُمْ ". قَالَ: قُلْنَا: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، أَفَنُحَدِّثُ عَنْ بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ ؟ قَالَ: " حَدِّثُوا وَلَا حَرَجَ
Translation
✧ Do not ask the People of the Book about anything, for they will not guide you when they have already led themselves astray." He said: We said, "O Messenger of God, may we then narrate from the Children of Israel?" He said: "Narrate, there is no restriction.
