حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ، حَدَّثَنَا وُهَيْبٌ، عَنْ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ كَانَ إِذَا خَطَبَ احْمَرَّتْ عَيْنَاهُ، وَاشْتَدَّ غَضَبُهُ، وَعَلَا صَوْتُهُ حَتَّى كَأَنَّهُ مُنْذِرُ جَيْشٍ، ثُمَّ قَالَ: صَبَّحَتْكُمُ السَّاعَةُ وَمَسَّتْكُمْ، بُعِثْتُ أَنَا وَالسَّاعَةُ كَهَاتَيْنِ: السَّبَّابَةِ وَالْوُسْطَى، أَمَّا بَعْدُ فَإِنَّ خَيْرَ الْهَدْيِ هَدْيُ مُحَمَّدٍ، وَشَرَّ الْأُمُورِ مُحْدَثَاتُهَا، وَكُلَّ بِدْعَةٍ ضَلَالَةٌ
Translation

✧ When the Messenger of God ﷺ delivered a sermon, his eyes would redden, his anger would intensify, and his voice would rise until it was as if he were warning of an army. Then he said: “The Hour has come upon you morning and evening. I and the Hour have been sent like these two: the index and middle fingers. To proceed: the best guidance is the guidance of Muhammad, the worst of matters are their newly invented ones, and every innovation is misguidance.”
