حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي سَمِينَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ حَبِيبِ بْنِ الشَّهِيدِ قَالَ: قَالَ أَبِي، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ دِينَارٍ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ قَالَ:

أَمَرَ أَبِي بِخَزِيرَةٍ، فَصُنِعَتْ، ثُمَّ أَمَرَنِي فَأَتَيْتُ بِهَا النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ: فَأَتَيْتُهُ وَهُوَ فِي مَنْزِلِهِ قَالَ: فَقَالَ لِي: مَاذَا مَعَكَ يَا جَابِرُ، أَلَحْمٌ ذِي ؟ قَالَ: قُلْتُ: لَا، قَالَ: فَأَتَيْتُ أَبِي، فَقَالَ لِي: هَلْ رَأَيْتَ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ ؟ قُلْتُ: نَعَمْ قَالَ: فَهَلَّا سَمِعْتَهُ يَقُولُ شَيْئًا ؟ قَالَ: قُلْتُ: نَعَمْ، قَالَ لِي: مَاذَا مَعَكَ يَا جَابِرُ، أَلَحْمٌ ذِي ؟ قَالَ: لَعَلَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ أَنْ يَكُونَ اشْتَهَى، فَأَمَرَ بِشَاةٍ لَنَا دَاجِنٍ، فَذُبِحَتْ، ثُمَّ أَمَرَ بِهَا فَشُوِيَتْ، ثُمَّ أَمَرَنِي فَأَتَيْتُ بِهَا النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَقَالَ لِي: مَاذَا مَعَكَ يَا جَابِرُ ؟ فَأَخْبَرْتُهُ، فَقَالَ: جَزَى اللهُ الْأَنْصَارَ عَنَّا خَيْرًا، وَلَا سِيَّمَا عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ حَرَامٍ، وَسَعْدَ بْنَ عُبَادَةَ

Translation

✧ My father ordered a meat and vegetable stew, and it was made. Then he ordered me and I brought it to the Prophet ﷺ. He said: I came to him while he was in his dwelling. He said: He said to me: What do you have with you, O Jabir? Is this meat? He said: I said: No. He said: I came to my father, and he said to me: Did you see the Messenger of God ﷺ? I said: Yes. He said: Did you not hear him say anything? He said: I said: Yes, he said to me: What do you have with you, O Jabir? Is this meat? He said: Perhaps the Messenger of God ﷺ had a craving, so he ordered a domestic sheep of ours, and it was slaughtered. Then he ordered it and it was roasted. Then he ordered me and I brought it to the Prophet ﷺ, and he said to me: What do you have with you, O Jabir? I told him, and he said: May God reward the Ansar well on our behalf, especially Abdullah b. Amr b. Haram and Sa'd b. Ubadah.
