✧ Al-Hajjaj arrived and he used to delay the prayer, so we asked Jabir b. 'Abdullah about that. He said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to pray Zuhr at midday when the sun declines, and 'Asr while the sun was still clear, and Maghrib when the sun sets, and 'Isha sometimes he would delay it and sometimes he would hasten it. If he saw that the people had gathered, he hastened, and if he saw that they had delayed, he delayed. And they, or he, used to pray Subh in the dark before dawn.
