حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ وَكِيعِ بْنِ الْجَرَّاحِ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ يَزِيدَ الْمَكِّيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ قَالَ:
كُنَّا فِي سَفَرٍ، فَصَامَ رَجُلٌ، فَغُشِيَ عَلَيْهِ، فَوَقَفَ عَلَيْهِ أَصْحَابُهُ، فَمَرَّ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ، فَقَالُوا: صَامَ، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ: لَيْسَ مِنَ الْبِرِّ الصَّوْمُ فِي السَّفَرِ
Translation

✧ We were on a journey, and a man fasted and then fainted. His companions stopped for him, and the Prophet ﷺ passed by. They said: He is fasting. The Prophet ﷺ said: Fasting while traveling is not part of righteousness.
