✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ set out in the year of the conquest to Makkah in Ramadan, and he fasted until he reached Kura' al-Ghamim. He said: The people fasted, both those on foot and those mounted. It was said to him: The people are finding the fast difficult; they are only watching what you do. He called for a cup and raised it up so that the people could see it, then he drank. Some of the people broke their fast and some fasted. It was said to the Prophet ﷺ: Some of them fasted. He said: Those are the disobedient ones. The walkers among his companions gathered to him and lined up before him, and they said: We seek the supplications of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, for the journey has become hard and the distance long. He said to them: Seek help by moving quickly (al-nasl), for it consumes the ground for you and you become light for it. He said: We did so, and we became light for it.
